CinemActivist was created spring of 2007 by Cinema Libre Studio located in Canoga Park, California.  The studio produces mainly social issue films and relies on the grassroots community for the support of these projects. CinemActivist was created as a social forum for activists, filmmakers, and the people. We hope that it will further social and political causes in the US and the world at large.

CinemActivist is:

SHAWN DWYER is originally from Stratford, CT and graduated Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor's in Communication and Journalism. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant and offline editor for a documentary production company. Shawn toiled away as a production assistant and second AD on independent features in New York City, then moved to Los Angeles to pursue an entertainment career, writing several screenplays and television pilots that helped land him representation. Along the way, he began writing biographies for the New York Times Company and freelancing for various online publications.

ALLISON KILKENNY is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, The Beast, and 236.com. She is a political journalist and activist. Her work has also appeared in McSweeney's and Edinburgh's Fringe review.

REGINA MCGREW has been an active blogger for the past ten years and currently has a personal blog located at http://seeginablog.com where she posts reviews of books, concerts, and films, as well as commentary on animal rights, politics, and women's issues. Regina currently makes her home in St. Louis, MO, with one fine cat, Jasper. When not working for "The Man", Regina volunteers with animal, political, and youth organizations. Her professional ambitions are to someday become a full-time freelance journalist and/or full-time blogger. Her obsessions include good beer, photography, and Stumbleupon. Her guilty pleasure films include "Harold and Kumar Go To Whitecastle" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

TOBY ROBERTS works as a freelance writer/blogger and online college English instructor from her home in California. She has an MA degree in English literature and in Composition/Rhetoric. She is particularly interested in rhetorics of war and has a specialization in literature and rhetoric of the Vietnam War. Toby is also an avid reader of just about anything and is a news and politics junkie (this may also lead to an “avid enjoyment of antidepressants” should the world not get a hold of itself soon).

SVELTE ROGUE's past blogging adventures have centered around sports, family life, and literary musings. But she has been and always will be an activist at heart, with the constant drive to be a meaningful agent of change in the best way she can be. Svelte Rogue thoroughly enjoys the occasional good film, especially those films that are not afraid to depict worlds in need of the world's watchful eye. She hopes to walk down familiar paths of activism with CinemActivist involving the power of the written word.

LINDSEY SALLS does online grassroots work for Cinema Libre Studio. She is currently studying film, video, and social justice at the Evergreen State College. In the past few years, she has organized the second Ladyfest in Olympia, Washington, interned at the ground breaking record label Kill Rock Stars, and collaborated on a performance/video art piece for the Portland Institute of Contemporary Arts TBA '05 Festival. Recently she attended and volunteered at the first ever U.S. Social Forum. Lindsey manages CinemActivist.com for Cinema Libre Studio.
